Why the song Nature Boy?
From all my life experiences I have learnt that it is a healthy attitude to accept that rejection is a part of life and to acknowledge that what really matters is finding a way to bounce back and try again. The writer of the song “Nature Boy” George Alexander Aberle who later changed his name to Eden Ahbez was born on the 15th April 1908 in Brooklyn died on the 4th March 1995 in Los Angeles. He began life in tragic circumstances and died in tragic circumstances, yet he wrote the song “Nature Boy” that has been performed by many of the world’s top artists and in1948 it became a No.1 worldwide hit for Nat King Cole.
I sincerely believe that if we all practice the message from this song, through the “Gratitude Challenge” the world will be a better place and the fear of rejection will surely be overcomed. I chose the version by George Benson as I am a fan of Jazz Rock and his version always moves me emotionally, especially when he sings and repeats the last line of the lyrics because it is a message for all human kind.
